Skills & Competencies

Check out the galleries below for some of my recent projects!

As a passionate autodidact and craftswoman, I love to work with my hands and exercise my imagination to bring visualizations to life. If I had to say what my goal in life was, I would say it would be to be a well-rounded individual and to take life on the completionist route. My philosophy is to never leave a stone unturned because you never know what chance or challenge might lie underneath it, and the experience (good or bad) is always worth it because so much can be gained from it. And one of those things is learning new skills, which I will elaborate upon here!

Fine Arts
"Paintings have a life of their own that derives from the painter's soul." ~ Vincent Van Gogh

Regardless of what career I end up in, I will always approach concepts with an artistic lens. Engineering enables some of this by being design-oriented and employing illustrations for client interactions. Therefore, honing this skill could give me a competitive edge in project presentation and marketability.

Engineering Design
"Every living being is an engine geared to the wheelwork of the universe..." ~ Nikola Tesla

From Fall of 2023 to Summer of 2024, I was given the opportunity to work 3 co-op terms at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International in Quality Control and IS Tester maintenance. I had the opportunity to further develop my keen eye for detail and critique assembly faults, as well as build my foundation in CAD and project management by designing storage solutions for  automotive diagnostic testing devices.

Traveling
"Home is where the heart is..."

During my high school years living in proximity to Washington D.C., I built an appreciation for learning about other cultures, languages and perspectives. In the Summer of 2023, I was able to take this appreciation to another level by studying abroad in Esslingen, Germany. Up until that point, I worked hard to learn German so I could speak and connect with the natives. I can say I am writing and reading proficient and my speaking and listening skills are improving!

Storytelling
"“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” ~ Maya Angelou

Through the church I have been able to dive into another creative aspect: storytelling. Whether that is through writing, acting, or making stage props and other decorations, I am getting to see stories, some of my own even, come to life. That has been an eye-opening experience and it gives an entirely new layer of meaning and depth to the art I participate in. Good stories stick with people and I hope to further my communication abilities by mastering the telling of a good story.
